Your storefront
Pages, menus and the header
Add a page, put it in the menu, and change the header and footer without breaking the storefront.
Updated
This page covers the content half of your storefront: which pages exist, what the menu shows, and how the header and footer are built.
There are two editors and they do different jobs. Website Settings holds the structure — the list of pages, the navigation, the header and footer documents, the homepage. Studio is where a single document is written, one page at a time. Changing the menu is a Settings job; writing the page it points at is a Studio job.
- Open Settings, then Website.
- Use the Pages tab to see Custom Pages and Promotional Banners. Select Add Page to create one, or Add Banner to add a banner to the mega menu.
- Open the Navigation tab to set what the menu contains and in what order.
- Open the shell editor for the header and footer. The Header Document holds the logo, the navigation and the actions; the Footer Document holds the footer columns.
- Select Edit Header or Edit Footer to change the document itself, which opens it in Studio.
- Save. The screen states that changes apply immediately — there is no separate publish step for the menu.
- Open the storefront in a new tab and check the menu on a narrow window as well as a wide one.

Promotional banners are the exception to the menu rule: they sit inside the mega menu and advertise something, so they are worth dating. A banner promoting a season that ended two months ago is the fastest way to look abandoned.
A page that exists but is not in the menu is still reachable by anyone with the address, and is still readable by search engines. Visibility and navigation are separate decisions, so hiding a page means turning it off rather than only removing it from the menu.
