Products and orders

Add and maintain products

Create a product, set its price and stock, and know which status to use instead of deleting it.

Updated

The Products screen is the list of everything you sell that is not an appointment, and every price a customer sees on the storefront comes from here.

A product is more than a name and a price. The status decides whether it appears on the storefront at all, and stock decides whether a customer can add it to a cart. Both are worth setting deliberately, because a product with no status and no stock behaves like a page that exists but cannot be bought from.

  1. Open Products, then select New Product.
  2. Complete Product Details — the name, the SKU or catalog number, and the category it belongs to.
  3. Set the price under Pricing. Retail Price is what a customer pays; Wholesale Price is only relevant if you sell to other businesses.
  4. Add images under Images and Media. A product with no image still sells, but it reads as an unfinished page.
  5. Write the description under Names and Descriptions, and fill the SEO section if you want the product page to be findable by search.
  6. Set the status. Active makes it visible and buyable; Draft keeps it out of the storefront while you finish it; Inactive hides a product you still want to keep.
  7. Set stock, then save and check the storefront to confirm the product appears where you expect it.

Out of the way entirely

The SKU is worth treating as permanent. It is what the export carries, what a search finds, and what tells two similar products apart on an order. A SKU that changes when a price changes turns every past order into a puzzle.

The list can be filtered by product line and searched by name or SKU. When a price looks wrong on the storefront, search the SKU here first — a duplicate product with the same name and an older price is the usual cause.
