The AI Site Builder, as it works today
What the builder screen does right now, and which parts of it are a preview rather than a working feature.
Updated
This page exists so nobody wastes an afternoon on the builder expecting it to draft a shop, and so the parts that do work are clear.
The builder is a workspace you can open and read. It is not yet a generator: every connection it would need to read your catalogue and your pages is reported as unavailable, and it returns no candidate for you to review. That is deliberate — a preview that quietly substitutes invented content would be worse than an honest empty state, because you would publish it.
- Open AI Site Builder from the left navigation.
- Read the workspace. The panels describe the connectors the builder would use.
- Note the status shown for each connection: they are all reported as unavailable, with the reason given on screen.
- Close the builder and use Studio for page content, and Settings then Website for structure. Those are the two editors that change the live storefront today.

AI generation in the builder
The builder does not generate pages, services or products. Every connector it depends on reports as unavailable and no draft is produced, so there is nothing to review or publish from this screen. One narrower AI feature does exist elsewhere: inside the CMS Studio editor, a single action can suggest a layout and column count for one widget. That is the only generation in the product today.
Two smaller things are worth checking while you are in that tab. The theme controls the colours and type the storefront uses, and the Analytics tab holds the measurement settings — if you rely on a traffic tool, it is configured there rather than added to the page.
When the builder does start producing drafts, the review step will be the important part: a generated page is a starting point you edit, not something that publishes itself. Until then, the fastest route to a working storefront is Studio plus the Website Settings tabs described in the two pages before this one.
